A friend contacted me today to give me an update on Mandy Bachman. She is being charged with multiple felonies.
I hosted Mandy and her codefendants on my podcast multiple times before she was jailed. And I put together this book from the transcripts of my podcast.
A screenplay of this book is below and I am looking for an AI Movie Maker who would like to help me turn the screenplay into a courtroom drama.

Ironically, when you click over to my author page this book is NOT listed for sale. Does the long arm of the Establishment control what can be sold on Amazon?
Jenny Marie Hatch
Over the past few years two legal situations have played out in Utah.
One revolved around the David Hamblin vs. Utah case and the second was tied to Amanda Bachman and her codefendants who have been prosecuted for a variety of crimes tied to Amanda’s work as a therapist.
I have spent countless hours interviewing those individuals tied to these cases and then blogging and shouting about the injustices observed.
The courts in Utah have no trouble prosecuting women who have been accused of certain crimes, but if a discredited therapist like David Hamblin is involved, they have bent over backwards NOT to prosecute.
This book contains a series of transcripts from Podcasts crafted around the legal proceedings from these two cases and I leave it up to the reader to decide for themselves who the guilty parties are.
I will link to the actual podcast after each scene in the screenplay.
These two posts are a good place to begin.

Screenplay for A Tale of Two Therapists
Scene One
**Screenplay: "Unveiled Truths: A Conversation on Satanic Ritual Abuse"**
**FADE IN:**
**INT. PODCAST STUDIO - DAY**
A dimly lit studio with two microphones on a table, surrounded by soundproof foam. NATHAN, intense but empathetic, adjusts his headset. Across from him sits JENNY MARIE HATCH, a poised woman with a determined gaze, her hands clasped tightly.
**NATHAN**
(enthusiastic, into mic)
Okay, thanks for joining me for this show today. This is a really interesting one. We’re diving into satanic ritual abuse and its alleged ties to a case in Utah involving people connected to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Let me be clear—we’re not saying the Mormon Church is directly involved, but there’s a case unfolding that raises questions.
**CUT TO:**
Close-up on JENNY, nodding thoughtfully, her eyes reflecting both pain and resolve.
**NATHAN (CONT’D)**
Joining me today is Jenny Marie Hatch, a faithful member of the Mormon Church, a mother of five, new grandmother, and a blogger and podcaster from Boulder, Colorado. Jenny, you’ve got a personal story tied to abuse, and you’re here to share what you can—carefully, of course. You also want to reach out to others who might be going through similar experiences. Welcome, Jenny.
**JENNY**
(smiling faintly)
Thanks, Nathan. I’ve followed your work for a long time, and I trust you to handle this topic well. I’m excited to be here, sharing my thoughts. I have strong opinions on this Utah case and ritual abuse in general, shaped by my own lived experience. I hope my perspective can help other victims.
**NATHAN**
(nods)
That’s such an important message, especially for those who might feel alone in this. This topic—satanic ritual abuse—is tough. It often involves recovered memories, which skeptics question, and there’s rarely concrete evidence. It’s easy to dismiss, like during the so-called Satanic Panic of the 1980s.
**JENNY**
(leaning forward, intense)
Exactly. They called it the Satanic Panic, but cases like McMartin Preschool had real evidence—tunnels under the school, just like the kids described. And then there’s this “False Memory Syndrome” narrative, pushed by pedophile families to discredit victims. They hired Elizabeth Loftus, who testified for Ghislaine Maxwell, to write the book on it. It’s a fraud, Nathan. My own mother claimed I had false memories when I started recalling what my father did to me.
**CUT TO:**
Close-up on NATHAN, his expression a mix of empathy and frustration.
**NATHAN**
That must have been devastating—to be gaslit like that. You’ve said you’re passionate about helping others know they can heal, that they can have a happy life despite the trauma.
**JENNY**
(firmly)
Absolutely. You *can* heal. I’ve lived it. My blog, healthyfamilies.life, and my Substack, jennyhatch.substack.com, are dedicated to this. I’m also committed to covering the Utah case daily until every pedophile is brought to justice. I got my hands on the case documents from the Provo Police Department and published them. It’s about the victims.
**NATHAN**
(nods approvingly)
You took a bold step sharing those documents. They’re from a 2014 case where charges were dismissed, right? I haven’t gone through them all yet, but you’ve made them public on your Substack. Why take the risk?
**JENNY**
(defiant)
The media gets these documents and cherry-picks what to report. I want people to see the raw truth. Over 400 people downloaded them in the last 36 hours—that shows the public’s interest. I’ve been threatened before, Nathan. I’m past caring. If they come for me, I’ll report it to the police and publish their actions. Sunlight is the best disinfectant.
**CUT TO:**
Wide shot of the studio, the tension palpable as both lean into the conversation.
**NATHAN**
I appreciate your courage. These documents mention a network—politicians, lawyers, judges, police—allegedly covering for each other. The case involves David Leavitt, a district attorney who outed himself as a subject of the investigation. You’ve seen the victim statements. What stands out?
**JENNY**
(eyes narrowing)
David Leavitt’s in witness statement number three, explicitly named. His press conference, calling the victim “tragically mentally ill,” hit me hard. That’s what my family said about me. My father was a patriarch in the Church, untouchable to many. Yet he was a pedophile. His death last year freed me to speak out. I’m standing with Sheriff Mike Smith, who’s pushing for justice despite Leavitt calling him the “QAnon sheriff.”
**NATHAN**
(chuckles wryly)
Yeah, I saw that. Leavitt went there with the QAnon label. This case, though—it’s not just one or two victims. They’re saying over a hundred have come forward since the sheriff’s press conference, alleging a ring operating from 1990 to 2010.
**JENNY**
(nods)
And it’s not new. The Pace Memo from 1990, written by a bishop who interviewed 60 victims, documented similar stories. I’ve published it on my blog. My own experiences mirror what’s in that memo. The Church investigated and concluded it wasn’t systemic, but individuals used their faith to cover their crimes. My bishops and stake presidents have been supportive in my healing, but not everyone’s had that.
**CUT TO:**
Close-up on JENNY, her voice softening but resolute.
**JENNY (CONT’D)**
If anyone’s listening and feeling scared, overwhelmed, or suicidal, I want to talk about the “kill switch.” Can we?
**NATHAN**
Absolutely. You’ve described how ritual abuse involves creating dissociative states—alternate personalities—so victims don’t remember the trauma. That’s deliberate, right?
**JENNY**
(nods gravely)
It’s diabolical. Perpetrators convince kids, usually under eight, that if they remember, they must kill themselves. It’s a fail-safe to keep them silent. I started remembering 20 years ago, and every time, I was hit with suicidal thoughts. I had episodes at 15, 21, and after my brother’s death in 2001. It didn’t make sense—I had a happy life, a great husband, kids. But the memories came, first of sexual abuse, then the ritual stuff in 2012.
**NATHAN**
(leaning in)
How did you push through that?
**JENNY**
(logically)
I told myself, “These aren’t my thoughts. They were planted.” Once you separate yourself from that programming, it’s easier to heal. I’ve spent 20 years reconciling memories, piece by piece. I’m not defined by my parents’ abuse. I’m living a beautiful life, and I want others to know they can too. Don’t let the perpetrators control your story.
**CUT TO:**
NATHAN, nodding, visibly moved.
**NATHAN**
That’s powerful. You’re also advocating for stronger consequences—like the death penalty for child rapists. How does that align with your faith?
**JENNY**
(shrugs)
Not all Mormons agree, and it’s not doctrine, but I believe these people are miserable. Send them to the afterlife—spirit prison, we call it. They don’t deserve to live among us. A clear penalty would deter this pedophile culture.
**NATHAN**
This Utah case mentions organized abuse, not just family-based but tied to a larger group, allegedly the Church of Satan. Your own experience wasn’t just familial, was it?
**JENNY**
(nods cautiously)
I grew up in Detroit, in the same Mormon congregation as Mitt Romney’s family. The Satanic Temple is there, with open Luciferians. I believe my parents got sucked into a network tied to power—politics, business, arts. They wanted to be movers and shakers but ended up compromised. I’ve tried to break that chain with my own kids.
**CUT TO:**
Wide shot, the conversation winding down but charged with purpose.
**NATHAN**
The documents paint a picture of a network—politicians, judges, police—covering for each other. The sheriff’s trying to expose it, but now the FBI’s involved, which could complicate things.
**JENNY**
(scoffs)
The FBI doesn’t comfort me. Look at Ted Gunderson—flashed his badge, took over cases, did nothing. The Utah sheriff’s office can handle this. Let the victims have their day in court. David Hamblin, a confessed rapist, tried to expunge his records. The sheriff reopened the case, and I’m grateful. Read the documents at healthyfamilies.life. They speak for themselves.
**NATHAN**
(smiling)
You’re fearless, Jenny. Any final thoughts?
**JENNY**
(defiant)
If anyone tries to silence me, I’ll publish their actions. The Streisand effect is real. Victims, you’re not alone. Come on my podcast, share your story. Let’s put these evil people away.
**NATHAN**
Thank you, Jenny, for your bravery and for coming on. Everyone, check out the documents at healthyfamilies.life, pinned under “No More Secrets.” Follow Jenny at jennyhatch.substack.com and me at lifttheveil.substack.com. Support the work if you can.
**JENNY**

Scene Two
**Screenplay: Healthy Families Podcast with Jenny Hatch and Mandy Bachman**
**INT. PODCAST STUDIO - NIGHT**
*The studio is cozy, with warm lighting, a microphone setup, and a small table. JENNY HATCH, a passionate and empathetic host, sits across from MANDY BACHMAN, a determined mental health therapist. The atmosphere is intimate yet charged with the weight of their conversation.*
**JENNY**
(cheerful, welcoming)
Welcome to the Healthy Families podcast. I’m your host, Jenny Hatch. My guest tonight is Mandy Bachman, who’s here to share vital information to bring hope to those who have been victims of human trafficking. Mandy, welcome to the show.
**MANDY**
(grateful, warm)
Thank you, Jenny. I’m so happy to be here.
**JENNY**
Let’s start with where people can find you online.
**MANDY**
Sure. I have a Facebook business page called Common Sense Therapy. I also have a podcast by the same name, split into two parts—one focused on therapy, the other on human trafficking information. You can find it on Apple or link to it through the Common Sense Therapy Facebook page. I’m also the CEO of a nonprofit healing center in Utah at squarepegranch.org. And if all else fails, my email is mandybachman@me.com.
**JENNY**
So, just Google “Mandy Bachman” or “Common Sense Therapy,” and you’ll find her. Mandy, I heard you were in court this morning. Can you share what’s happening in Utah?
**MANDY**
(serious, resolute)
I’m a mental health therapist with over 30 years of experience, specializing in crisis counseling. Several years ago, I started working with trafficking victims. They came to me with severe trauma, often from their own families who were either selling them into trafficking or using them within that world.
*CLOSE-UP: Mandy’s face, her eyes reflecting both pain and determination.*
**MANDY (CONT’D)**
Traffickers’ biggest tool is the mind. They’ve perfected brainwashing to control their victims. I started figuring out how to break that brainwashing and ritualistic abuse. When I did, these victims found hope—they could see a life beyond their prison. But they had no skills outside the trafficking world, so many asked me to be their surrogate mom.
**JENNY**
(surprised, compassionate)
Wow, you became a mom to the world.
**MANDY**
(smiling faintly)
That’s what I say! I let several victims move in with my family in Goshen, Utah. But I didn’t realize Goshen was a major trafficking hub. When I continued helping victims, I faced backlash. They attacked my reputation, my family, my business. They vandalized my property, hurt my animals, and used law enforcement against me. There were illegal raids on my home, and they took my three-year-old granddaughter, placing her into the trafficking world.
**JENNY**
(shocked)
That’s horrifying. What happened in court this morning?
**MANDY**
The mayor of Goshen and a local church leader support the traffickers. They told me to stop calling out abuse, or they’d punish me. When I didn’t, they charged me, my business partner Beth, and others with extortion, blackmail, harassment, and—my favorite—obstruction of justice, because I called a lawyer after they told me not to.
**JENNY**
(outraged)
That’s bananas! Can you share how you help victims? That’s what I want to focus on.
**MANDY**
(nods, passionate)
The victims I’ve helped range from minors to adults in their 30s, some married to traffickers. They’re often brainwashed to not see the abuse. I use a “backdoor approach” to break that. For example, I ask, “Did you choose this? Did you ask to be hurt?” They realize they didn’t, and that’s where hope begins. I’ve taken in five adults and three minors as foster family, outside the court system, because they needed a mom.
**JENNY**
That’s incredible. You mentioned your granddaughter was taken. Are you fighting to get her back?
**MANDY**
Yes. On January 10th, they took her, orchestrated by her biological father, a trafficker. When we asked for a wellness check, the police refused, citing a court order. They even told her mother, who contacted DCFS, that they wouldn’t help.
**JENNY**
(awed)
So brazen. Did you feel any hope after court today?
**MANDY**
(faithful)
I believe in God, and He’s been on my side. The prosecutor was spewing venom, trying to lock me up to silence me, but the judge was fantastic. She shut them down, saying it wasn’t legal to deny me a lawyer. It was a huge blessing.
**JENNY**
(firmly)
I’m a paid journalist on Substack, with freedom of the press behind us. You have free speech, and we’re shouting this from the housetops. For victims listening, especially those with repressed memories, I’ve been there. I’m a ritual abuse survivor. The memories didn’t surface until my 30s and 40s. The healing process took me to death’s door, but better days are ahead. Mandy, tell us more about your hope protocol.
**MANDY**
(earnest)
Traffickers implant traits to isolate victims, making them feel unlovable. That isolation fuels suicidal thoughts. I tell victims their emotions are honest—they know the truth. I don’t say empty words like “you’re worth it.” Instead, I challenge them: “Prove you chose this.” They can’t, and that cracks the brainwashing. Hope starts with one small light of truth.
**JENNY**
That’s beautiful. Are you still taking clients despite the legal battles?
**MANDY**
The Utah Attorney General’s office tried to shut me down, claiming my degrees and licenses were fraudulent—they’re not. They threatened felonies and fines, but I’m a certified music therapist, which they can’t touch. I run Square Peg Ranch, using nature and animals to heal. I charge $100 a session and do remote work for clients in California, Washington, and beyond. I’d love to work with you, Jenny.
**JENNY**
(excited)
As a musical theater actress, I’ve used music as therapy for years. Your approach makes my heart sing! $100 is a bargain compared to $350 an hour here in Boulder. Can you share your contact info?
**MANDY**
My number is 801-839-8097. As a crisis counselor, I’m available beyond 8-to-5. I’ve worked in Utah’s suicide belt for 30 years and never lost a client to suicide. The government should study that, not try to silence me.
**JENNY**
That’s powerful. For anyone listening who’s suffering, Mandy and I believe you. Your memories are a sign of strength, not weakness. You’re alive, and that’s enough to start rebuilding.
**MANDY**
Exactly. Being a victim doesn’t mean you’re weak—it means something happened you didn’t control. Your humanity is your strength. And I call on everyone to speak out against corruption. Call jails, politicians, church leaders. One small light of resistance can change everything.
**JENNY**
Absolutely, now’s the time to rattle cages. Mandy, thank you for your courage. You’ll be hearing from me, and you’re welcome back anytime.
**MANDY**
(grateful)
I’d love that, Jenny. You’re a delight, and your strength is inspiring. Thank you.
**JENNY**
(to audience)
This is Mandy Bachman, music therapist helping victims of crime. I’m Jenny Hatch, and I’m so glad you tuned in. Have a great day.

**SCREENPLAY: SHADOWS OF JUSTICE**
**FADE IN:**
**INT. PODCAST STUDIO - DAY**
A cozy, cluttered studio with microphones, a laptop, and papers scattered on a desk. JENNY HATCH (determined, warm) sits at the host’s chair, adjusting her headset. Across from her is GOEL ( intense, sharp-eyed), an investigative journalist, sipping coffee. A small audience watches via a live stream on a monitor in the background.
**JENNY**
(enthusiastic, into mic)
It is the *Healthy Families Podcast*! My name is Jenny Hatch, and I’m your host. My special guest today is the investigative journalist Goel from Investigations at Ritual Abuse. Goel, welcome to the show!
**GOEL**
(nods, focused)
Thanks for having me, Jenny.
**JENNY**
We’re here to talk about what we just heard during the court hearing in the David Lee Hamblin case in Utah. Probably the most exciting development today was the possibility of more arrests. Is that what you heard?
**GOEL**
(leans forward)
Yeah, Ryan Peters, the prosecutor, mentioned a privilege log turned over to the defense—part of 11,000 pages and counting in discovery for the Hamblin case. He hinted that it might be affected because they’re considering charges against additional defendants.
**CUT TO:**
**FLASHBACK - INT. COURTROOM - DAY**
A tense courtroom. JUDGE GRIFFIN (stern but fair) presides over a WebEx hearing. RYAN PETERS (40s, polished but visibly stressed) appears on a screen, slightly late. The DEFENSE ATTORNEY (30s, sharp) takes notes.
**GOEL (V.O.)**
The most obvious candidate, based on the indictment, is Roselle Stephenson—formerly Roselle Hamblin, David’s ex-wife and the mother of the alleged victims. The indictment mentions a female perpetrator present during some of the abuse.
**BACK TO:**
**INT. PODCAST STUDIO - DAY**
Jenny leans in, eyes wide with concern.
**JENNY**
So, Roselle fits the profile of a female perpetrator?
**GOEL**
(nods grimly)
She does. Academic studies show female perpetrators of child sexual abuse are rare—about 10% of cases. They usually act as accomplices to a dominant male figure, like David Hamblin. The victim statements are chilling. The Hamblin children report being forced to perform oral sex on their mother, Roselle, before school. They claim she medicated her daughters and pimped them out as prostitutes.
**JENNY**
(gasps, horrified)
That’s unimaginable. How credible are these victim statements?
**GOEL**
(steadfast)
In 22 years of doing this, I’ve never seen victims this consistent. We’ve reviewed police reports, victim statements, and other materials. Not a single lie or inconsistency. That’s rare. These kids are as close to perfect victims as you get.
**CUT TO:**
**FLASHBACK - EXT. PROVO POLICE DEPARTMENT - DAY (2012)**
KATIE HAMBLIN (brave but haunted) walks into the police station, her face set with determination. She clutches a folder of documents.
**GOEL (V.O.)**
When Katie Hamblin walked into the Provo Police Department in 2012 to disclose her father’s abuse, it was a seismic moment. Her sisters joined her, even wearing audiovisual surveillance to confront their mother, Roselle.
**CUT TO:**
**INT. ROSELLE’S LIVING ROOM - DAY (FLASHBACK)**
Roselle ( nervous, evasive) sits across from her daughters, unaware of the hidden cameras. The room is tense, filled with unspoken pain.
**ROSELLE**
(fidgeting)
I don’t remember doing that. Maybe David programmed me.
**GOEL (V.O.)**
She never denies it outright. That’s a classic sign of guilt. An innocent person would say, “I didn’t do it,” not “I don’t remember.”
**BACK TO:**
**INT. PODCAST STUDIO - DAY**
Jenny shakes her head, visibly shaken.
**JENNY**
What impresses me most about your work, Goel, is how you corroborate their stories with public records—property purchases, family connections, newspaper clippings. Like your deep dive on the Christiansens, David Hamblin’s sister’s family.
**GOEL**
(modest)
It’s just experience. I’ve been covering securities fraud and sex trafficking for over two decades. You learn to pull from sources others might overlook—property records, court filings, genealogies. It builds a case.
**JENNY**
(excited)
Speaking of building a case, you’re teaching investigative research classes, right?
**GOEL**
(nods)
Starting Thursday at 7 p.m. Central Time on Zoom. Free classes on investigative techniques. Email me at 1830goel@gmail.com for an invite. I’m putting together 15 to 16 classes, complete with PowerPoints and a PDF textbook.
**CUT TO:**
**INT. COURTROOM - DAY (EARLIER THAT DAY)**
Ryan Peters, on the WebEx screen, addresses Judge Griffin.
**RYAN PETERS**
(nervous but professional)
Your Honor, the privilege log may be affected by potential new charges against additional defendants. We’re still reviewing the 11,000 pages of discovery.
**JUDGE GRIFFIN**
(calm)
Noted. Let’s set the next hearing for September 5th.
**GOEL (V.O.)**
Peters was late to the hearing. Just a minute, but in court, you don’t show up late. Judge Griffin didn’t seem fazed, but it’s a bad look.
**BACK TO:**
**INT. PODCAST STUDIO - DAY**
A CALLER, BRADY (passionate), joins via phone, his voice crackling through the speakers.
**BRADY**
Thanks for talking about this. Are these guys in jail yet? How can we help promote the case?
**GOEL**
They’re not in jail yet, but the case is building. You can share my Substack—1830goel.substack.com—or my TikTok and Instagram, both at 1830goel. Sunlight’s the best disinfectant, and mockery’s a close second.
**JENNY**
(laughs)
You’ve got some hilarious videos on Craig Christensen, who’s running for Provo City Council. His campaign should thank you!
**GOEL**
(smiling)
I doubt they will. If they try a defamation suit, it’s my dream scenario. It’s not defamation if it’s true.
**BRADY**
I’m just overwhelmed by how big this is. I got kicked out of a chat room for bringing up this topic. People are slowly waking up, though, thanks to films like *Sound of Freedom*.
**JENNY**
(nods)
That movie’s helping the conversation. People can’t deny child trafficking anymore.
**GOEL**
(serious)
The challenge is the scale. This case spans decades, generations, and powerful families. They use the LDS Church as cover, live in tight-knit neighborhoods, and control local institutions. It’s a wall of money and corruption.
**CUT TO:**
**FLASHBACK - EXT. TERRAIN AVENUE APARTMENT BUILDING - DAY**
A quiet suburban street in Provo, Utah. The camera pans to a basement window, where shadows move ominously.
**GOEL (V.O.)**
Rachel Hamblin alleged that the Terrain Avenue apartment was a hub for the LDS Church of Satan. All three tenants were involved, and the landlord was the group’s “punisher,” disciplining non-compliant children in the basement.
**BACK TO:**
**INT. PODCAST STUDIO - DAY**
Jenny looks at her notes, her voice steady but emotional.
**JENNY**
What’s your main takeaway from today’s hearing, Goel?
**GOEL**
The big news is the potential for new charges, likely against Roselle Stephenson. The discovery process is ongoing, with 11,000 pages to review. The next hearings are August 9th in Nancy and September 5th in Judge Griffin’s court. And Jenny, your work at healthyfamilies.life is crucial—those unredacted documents you posted are a game-changer.
**JENNY**
Thank you. And folks, check out Goel’s Substack at 1830goel.substack.com. His reports are unmatched. I’ve linked my own work too, from last year’s coverage to today’s podcasts.
**GOEL**
And one last thing—we’re working on a new investigation. A prominent Utah real estate figure, not named in the victim statements, but tied to suspicious transactions in LDS neighborhoods. Stay tuned.
**JENNY**
(to audience)
That’s it for today. Thank you, Goel, and our caller, Brady. Keep shining a light. We’ll see you next time on the *Healthy Families Podcast*.
**GOEL**
Keep kicking, everyone.
**Jenny plays a cheerful jingle as the camera pulls back, revealing the live stream audience reacting on the monitor.**
**FADE OUT.**
**TITLE CARD: “SHADOWS OF JUSTICE”**
**END.**
---
**Notes:**
- The screenplay condenses some of the dialogue for pacing while preserving the key points and tone of the conversation.
- Flashbacks are used to visualize the court hearing, police interactions, and alleged events to add dramatic weight.
- The tone balances the gravity of the subject matter with the podcast’s conversational energy.
- Stage directions and character descriptions are minimal but evocative to set the scene without overloading the script.
- The title, *Shadows of Justice*, reflects the themes of hidden corruption and the pursuit of truth in a complex case.
Scene Four
**SCREENPLAY: VOICES OF TRUTH**
**FADE IN:**
**INT. PODCAST STUDIO - DAY**
A modest podcast studio, warm and inviting, with a cluttered desk holding microphones, a laptop, and scattered notes. JENNY HATCH (fierce, compassionate) adjusts her headset, her eyes bright with determination. Across from her sits MANDY BACHMAN (weary but resolute), clutching a water bottle, her face etched with the weight of her story. A monitor in the background shows a live stream with a small but engaged audience.
**JENNY**
(enthusiastic, into mic)
This is the *Healthy Families Podcast*, and I’m your host, Jenny Hatch. Today, I’m joined by Mandy Bachman to share the heartbreaking story of what happened to her dogs. But just minutes ago, Mandy dropped a bombshell about a huge development. Mandy, take it away.
**MANDY**
(nervous but steady)
I’ll start with the development, then get to the dogs. The powers of corruption are still trying to arrest me. They want me in jail, and they’ll do anything to make it happen. This morning, Lindsay up at the ranch called me. Wyatt, one of the men targeting us, sent money to a donor who gave us a horse, then demanded to see it. He’s now claiming we’re mistreating the horse, accusing us of animal cruelty to lure the police to the ranch and arrest me.
**CUT TO:**
**FLASHBACK - EXT. RANCH - DAY**
A sprawling Utah ranch under a vast sky. LINDSAY (anxious) stands by a fence, phone pressed to her ear, watching horses graze. In the distance, a truck idles suspiciously near the property line.
**MANDY (V.O.)**
I wasn’t there, and my staff knows this is a trap. We thwarted it, but I’ve spent all day dodging arrest. It’s been... fun.
**BACK TO:**
**INT. PODCAST STUDIO - DAY**
Jenny leans forward, her expression a mix of shock and outrage.
**JENNY**
I posted on Facebook two days ago about inviting you to talk about the dogs. Do you think Wyatt saw that and decided to flip the script, accusing *you* of animal cruelty when he’s likely the one who stole them?
**MANDY**
(nods grimly)
Absolutely. They don’t want us exposing how *they* mistreat our animals. They want to pin it on us because animal abusers are cold-hearted. It shows who they are. If they’ll hurt animals, what’ll they do to kids? To people?
**CUT TO:**
**FLASHBACK - EXT. MANDY’S BACKYARD - DAY**
A quiet suburban backyard in Goshen, Utah. SUKI, a loyal dog, bounds playfully. Suddenly, DEREK (menacing) appears, kicking Suki viciously. She yelps in agony, a sound that pierces the air.
**MANDY (V.O.)**
We have dogs here at the house and up at the ranch. They’re therapy animals, protectors, and friends to our horses. But Wyatt and Derek hate dogs, especially the ones bonded to us. Suki, my dog, was Derek’s target. I was on the phone with my husband when I heard her scream. Derek was kicking her in the chest, trying to kill her in our yard.
**BACK TO:**
**INT. PODCAST STUDIO - DAY**
Jenny covers her mouth, horrified.
**JENNY**
That’s monstrous. What else have they done?
**MANDY**
(voice breaking)
Our neighbor, part of the local reporting committee, watches us for the traffickers. One day, Luke, another dog, came back bleeding, reeking of toxic chemicals. The neighbor sprayed him with car fluid and sliced his paw with a knife when he fought back.
**CUT TO:**
**FLASHBACK - EXT. MANDY’S BACKYARD - DAY**
LUKE, a scrappy dog, limps back to the house, blood dripping from his paw. The neighbor’s yard is visible, tools and chemicals scattered near a fence.
**MANDY (V.O.)**
Up at the ranch, we have guard dogs, Bertie and Hugo. Wyatt hates them because they don’t like him. He’s beaten Chubbs, our herding dog, and tried to take Bertie. She howled so loud he let her go, and she made it home. But a week before a planned raid, Wyatt took Bentley and Hugo, our best barkers.
**CUT TO:**
**FLASHBACK - EXT. RANCH - NIGHT**
A dark, moonlit night. WYATT (calculating) creeps around the ranch, leashing BENTLEY and HUGO. The dogs bark furiously as he drags them away.
**MANDY (V.O.)**
He took them to clear the way for the raid. They didn’t want to deal with barking dogs. Bentley came back, crawling a mile, his back legs shredded from being thrown out of a moving vehicle.
**CUT TO:**
**EXT. RANCH - DAWN**
BENTLEY, battered but determined, drags himself toward the ranch house. His back legs are raw, infested with parasites. LINDSAY gasps, rushing to him.
**MANDY (V.O.)**
We bandaged him up, started physical therapy. He’s stubborn, still crawls to stay with us. But Hugo... we heard his distinctive bark across the road a few days ago. When we asked for him back, the barking stopped. We think they killed him.
**BACK TO:**
**INT. PODCAST STUDIO - DAY**
Jenny wipes a tear, her voice trembling.
**JENNY**
That’s heartrending. And Hugo was Caitlin’s dog?
**MANDY**
(nods, emotional)
Yes. Hugo was special. He nearly died at birth, but we saved him with mouth-to-mouth and hand-feeding. Caitlin bonded with him. Wyatt hates Caitlin because she’s the principal of our school, which he’s trying to sabotage. He’s already killed her baby goat and poisoned her horse. Now Hugo’s gone.
**JENNY**
Have you told Caitlin?
**MANDY**
(softly)
Not yet. I hoped he’d come back, like Bentley. But they’ve locked her phone privileges, restricted her family’s numbers. It’s illegal—they haven’t convicted her of anything.
**CUT TO:**
**FLASHBACK - INT. JAIL CELL - DAY**
CAITLIN ( weary but defiant) sits on a cot, staring at a phone she can’t use. A GUARD (cold) passes by, ignoring her.
**MANDY (V.O.)**
They told her to contact her lawyer but didn’t give her the lawyer’s name or number. It’s lawfare, plain and simple, to break her down.
**BACK TO:**
**INT. PODCAST STUDIO - DAY**
Jenny slams her fist on the desk, furious.
**JENNY**
This is gobsmacking! And after our last podcast, they punished her for talking to me. That makes me mad.
**MANDY**
It’s the same with Ty. They told him he’s choosing me over his three boys, which is a lie. He’s fighting to prove his innocence so he can go home to them. They’ve cut off his emails and calls.
**JENNY**
(voice rising)
I’m calling on the Vernal Police Department and the jail: release these people *now*! If you can’t charge them, give them a trial, or let them contact their attorneys and families, let them go! You’re facing the wrath of God for this.
**CUT TO:**
**INT. JAIL VISITATION ROOM - DAY (IMAGINED)**
TY (40s, heartbroken) sits alone, staring at a photo of his three boys. The room is sterile, oppressive.
**MANDY (V.O.)**
They’re whistleblowers, truth-tellers, and you’re punishing them for it. It’s beyond the pale.
**BACK TO:**
**INT. PODCAST STUDIO - DAY**
Mandy takes a deep breath, her resolve hardening.
**MANDY**
We’re fighting back with a lawsuit through the Indigent Defense Commission. They’ve violated Ty, Caitlin, and Beth’s Sixth Amendment rights by not providing discovery legally. Ty got 18 pages of garbage, not in court as required. Caitlin and Beth got nothing. We’re filing federal motions in the Third District Court in Salt Lake City against everyone involved.
**JENNY**
(nods enthusiastically)
I’m excited about this lawsuit. And I hope you go after the church leadership too, for the religious persecution. That’s the most heartrending part.
**CUT TO:**
**FLASHBACK - INT. CHURCH COURT ROOM - NIGHT**
A dimly lit room. MANDY sits alone, facing CHARLES PIPER (50s, smug, stake president) and STEPHEN STALEY (40s, mayor and bishop, cold). An ARMED POLICEMAN looms in the corner. The atmosphere is oppressive, far from the “loving process” promised.
**MANDY (V.O.)**
Charles Piper and Stephen Staley ran a bogus church court. No high council, just them grilling me for five hours. They excommunicated me, took my temple recommend, and denied me the appeal process. Then they bragged about it on Facebook through Wyatt and Derek.
**BACK TO:**
**INT. PODCAST STUDIO - DAY**
Jenny shakes her head, incredulous.
**JENNY**
That’s not how we do things in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It’s supposed to be loving, inclusive, not shunning. You weren’t even allowed at your daughter’s wedding!
**MANDY**
(voice cracking)
They sent a letter from Kirton McConkie saying I can’t step on church grounds. When I tried attending stake conference, Derek called the sheriff to arrest me two minutes after I walked in.
**JENNY**
(furious)
This is religious persecution, plain and simple. Charles Piper and Stephen Staley should face excommunication for this.
**MANDY**
(nods)
They’re using their civil authority to persecute me for speaking out against trafficking and abuse. It’s wrong, and they know it.
**JENNY**
(turning to mic)
I’m begging other journalists to cover this. Mandy’s story, the dogs, the jailed whistleblowers, her kidnapped granddaughter Piper—it’s beyond the pale. These elites kill pets to silence us. Wyatt and Derek are committing felonies to target you, and the judicial system in Utah needs to step up.
**MANDY**
(steely)
I have proof—documents, police reports, their own words on Facebook. They call me a liar, but if I’m so wrong, why are they attacking me? Why are my animals dying, my friends jailed, my granddaughter gone?
**CUT TO:**
**FLASHBACK - EXT. RANCH - DAWN**
BENTLEY crawls toward the ranch house, his eyes bright with determination despite his injuries. LINDSAY kneels beside him, tears streaming as she bandages his legs.
**MANDY (V.O.)**
They didn’t count on us, Jenny. We don’t go quietly. We yell, and we yell louder.
**BACK TO:**
**INT. PODCAST STUDIO - DAY**
Jenny smiles, her eyes shining with admiration.
**JENNY**
That’s our mojo. If they call us crazy, I’ll own it. Mandy, it’s an honor to know you, my sister in Christ. I believe your nightmare will end soon, and we’ll go to the temple together to feel that peace.
**MANDY**
(teary but hopeful)
Thank you, Jenny. I love you too, and I look forward to that day.
**JENNY**
(to audience)
Thanks for joining us on the *Healthy Families Podcast*. Mandy, stay safe, and I hope they don’t dare arrest you today. We’ll be back as things develop. Keep praying, keep fighting.
**Jenny plays a heartfelt jingle. The monitor shows the live stream audience typing messages of support.**
**FADE OUT.**
**TITLE CARD: “VOICES OF TRUTH”**
**END.**

**Notes:**
- The screenplay condenses the dialogue slightly for pacing while preserving the emotional weight and key details of Mandy’s story.
- Flashbacks visualize the attacks on the dogs, the church court, and jail conditions to heighten the drama and convey the stakes.
- The tone balances outrage, heartbreak, and hope, reflecting the podcast’s mission to expose truth and inspire action.
- Stage directions emphasize the emotional toll on Mandy and Jenny, grounding the story in their shared humanity.
- The title, *Voices of Truth*, underscores the podcast’s role in amplifying silenced voices against corruption and persecution.
Scene Five
**Screenplay: Jenny Hatch Live**
**INT. JENNY'S LIVING ROOM - EVENING**
*The camera pans across a cozy, warmly lit living room in Boulder, Colorado. Outside, rain gently patters against the windows, creating a serene backdrop. JENNY HATCH, sits at a desk with a microphone, her laptop open, and a stack of papers nearby. She exudes passion and conviction, her eyes intense yet compassionate. The title "Jenny Hatch Live" fades in on the screen.*
**JENNY**
*(to camera, with warmth)*
Hello, everyone! It’s Jenny Hatch Live, coming to you from beautiful Boulder, Colorado. What a glorious evening we’re having—a lovely rainstorm just swept through, clearing the air. Always a blessing.
*She leans forward, her tone shifting to one of reflection.*
**JENNY**
So, a friend recently asked me, “Jenny, what’s your biggest takeaway from the Hamblin case, after everything that’s unfolded these past 13 months?” I’ve been thinking hard about it, and you know what? Long term, it’s positively killed the Mormon potluck supper for me.
*She chuckles darkly, shaking her head.*
**JENNY**
For the rest of my life, I’ll be giving that crockpot of meatballs the side-eye, wondering, “Hmm, any Hamblin cousins in the ward?” I don’t know if I’d be able to partake. A little dark humor to kick things off.
*Her expression grows serious, her voice lowering.*
**JENNY**
The victim statements in this case… they’re so unbelievably heinous, it’s hard to even talk about them. Think about them. Write about them. Honestly, I’d be perfectly content never speaking of them again—they’re that horrific.
*She pauses, looking down, gathering herself.*
**JENNY**
I grew up in a family in Michigan where evil things happened behind closed doors. Things were done to me that I don’t like to revisit. But they’re embedded in my heart. I feel this… obligation to keep talking, for the survivors’ sake.
*FLASHBACK - INT. MICHIGAN HOME - NIGHT (1970s)*
*Young JENNY, age 8, sits in a dimly lit room, her face etched with fear. Shadows move in the background, indistinct but ominous. The scene is brief, haunting, and fades back to the present.*
**JENNY**
Last year, I got a cease-and-desist from a Utah law firm. They told me to stop talking about the Hamblin case, take down my content, the victim statements, my YouTube videos. They claimed I was making things harder for the victims, that I was doxing them.
*She leans forward, indignant.*
**JENNY**
I didn’t dox anyone. No names, no addresses—everything was redacted. I shared those statements for other victims, because when I read them, I found corroboration for my own experiences. Things I’d never told anyone—not my therapist, my husband, my kids.
*Her voice softens, eyes glistening.*
**JENNY**
These girls, 2,000 miles away, described the exact same things that happened to me. Patterns of… satanic ritual abuse. It was like a mirror to my own pain.
*She takes a deep breath, steadying herself.*
**JENNY**
My heart is with those walking around in a daze, carrying symptoms of distress—physical, emotional, spiritual. They know something’s off. Maybe the people around them sense it too. They’re hearing rumors about this case in Utah, feeling terror, panic, anxiety… suicidal depression.
*FLASHBACK - INT. HOSPITAL ROOM - DAY (2011)*
*Jenny, sits on a hospital bed, staring blankly at the wall. A NURSE checks her chart, concern on her face. Jenny’s voiceover continues.*
**JENNY (V.O.)**
In 2011, I hit a wall. Suicidal ideation, overwhelm, depression. I couldn’t figure out why. I’d been healing for a decade, thought I was through the worst of it. But then a memory surfaced—an initiation into a Detroit cult. A satanic cult tied to my church, my parents, people in the community.
*BACK TO PRESENT - INT. JENNY'S LIVING ROOM*
**JENNY**
They programmed a kill switch into me. Convinced my body, my soul, that if I ever remembered what they did, I’d kill myself. A safety mechanism to protect them.
*She clenches her fist, her voice rising with defiance.*
**JENNY**
But I survived. I’ve been hospitalized three times for suicidal depression—age 15, 21, and 2011. Never made an attempt, thank God. I always reached out, got help. And now, I’m here, speaking for those who can’t.
*She gestures to her laptop, pulling up a webpage.*
**JENNY**
This week, Roselle—Rosie—the 70-year-old mother in the Hamblin case, was arrested. She’s in jail, no bail. It’s thrilling to see the law finally assert its authority. This could be the case that blows it all wide open, exposing these nests of satanic evildoers.
*She leans back, her tone shifting to one of resolve.*
**JENNY**
At jennyhatch.substack.com, I’ve compiled six weeks of coverage on the Hamblin case—mainstream and independent journalism, podcasts, victim statements. It’s all there, in chronological order. I did interviews with Nathan Stolfman at Lift the Veil, connected with Goel at Investigations and Ritual Abuse.
*She smiles faintly, a flicker of pride.*
**JENNY**
I’m a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and I love my faith. The Book of Mormon, the hymns, the fellowship—it’s brought me joy my whole life. But I draw a line between the gospel and those who use it as a cover for evil.
*FLASHBACK - INT. LDS CHURCH - DAY*
*Jenny, surrounded by WARD MEMBERS, sings a hymn, Come Thou Fount, with a choir. The music swells, her face glowing with peace. The scene contrasts sharply with the earlier darkness.*
**JENNY (V.O.)**
These evildoers want their own in positions of power—business, politics, entertainment. They program children to be docile, obedient puppets. When a celebrity disappears for a year, comes back flashing satanic symbols? That’s reprogramming.
*BACK TO PRESENT - INT. JENNY'S LIVING ROOM*
**JENNY**
This case isn’t just about Utah. It’s about exposing a system. Brave women came forward in 2012, and their case was dismissed in 2014. But now, with new evidence, it’s back. Justice is coming.
*She looks directly into the camera, her voice steady.*
**JENNY**
To anyone out there struggling, feeling those waves of panic or suicidal thoughts—you’re not alone. Keep fighting. And to those trying to silence me, or tear down my faith? Save it. I know what I know.
*She pauses, softening.*
**JENNY**
I’m open to questions if anyone wants to call in. Brady, I see you on the line—any comments? No worries if not.
*She smiles warmly, leaning back.*
**JENNY**
Thank you all for tuning in. Have a wonderful day.
*The camera lingers on Jenny as she closes her laptop. The sound of rain intensifies outside, and the screen fades to black. Text appears: “Jenny Hatch Live - Fighting for Truth.”*
**FADE OUT.**
**END.**
*Notes: The screenplay condenses Jenny’s monologue into a concise, dramatic format while preserving her voice and key themes. Flashbacks are used sparingly to visualize her past without overwhelming the narrative. The tone balances her passion, trauma, and defiance, with a focus on her mission to support survivors and expose systemic abuse.*
Scene Six
**Screenplay: Healthy Families Podcast - Mandy Bachman Interview**
**INT. JENNY'S HOME STUDIO - EVENING**
*The camera opens on a cozy home studio in Boulder, Colorado. A microphone sits on a desk cluttered with notes and a laptop. JENNY HATCH, sits poised, her face a mix of determination and empathy. A title card reads: "Healthy Families Podcast, July 12, 2024." The sound of a gentle rain can be heard faintly outside.*
**JENNY**
*(fumbling with her equipment, lighthearted)*
Okay, one second… I’ve already started the recording, but that’s fine. It’s all good.
*She adjusts her headset, smiles at the camera.*
**JENNY**
Welcome to the Healthy Families Podcast. I’m your host, Jenny Hatch. Tonight is Friday, July 12, 2024. Two days ago, on July 10th, Mandy Bachman’s Square Peg Ranch was raided and looted. Her animals and tack were stolen, and she’s here to share the story. Mandy, welcome to the show.
*Cut to a split-screen. MANDY BACHMAN, appears via video call from her home in Utah. Her face shows exhaustion but fierce resolve.*
**MANDY**
Thanks, Jenny. Thanks for having me again.
**JENNY**
It’s my honor. I’ve been heartsick since I heard what happened. Tell us everything.
**MANDY**
*(sighs, voice steady but heavy)*
On Wednesday, Wyatt Shardeen, my business partner’s estranged husband, came onto the ranch with 20 people and told us he had the right to take everything. We told the police he brought with him that they were trespassing, that there was no court order, and that Wyatt already got his personal belongings months ago, signed off by the sheriff.
*FLASHBACK - EXT. SQUARE PEG RANCH - DAY (JULY 10, 2024)*
*Chaos unfolds at the ranch. A group of PEOPLE, led by WYATT SHARDEEN, a wiry man, hauls away horse tack and panels. POLICE OFFICERS stand by, ignoring STAFF MEMBERS waving paperwork. A Montana license plate is visible on a truck. The scene is tense, with shouts and the sound of breaking equipment.*
**MANDY (V.O.)**
They didn’t care. They let Wyatt and his crew do whatever they wanted for eight hours. What they didn’t take, they destroyed or threw away. They refused to look at our paperwork proving the property was ours. Someone would pick something up, ask, “Wyatt, is this yours?” He’d say yes, and they’d let him take it.
*BACK TO PRESENT - SPLIT-SCREEN*
**JENNY**
*(outraged)*
They ignored your proof? And who were these 20 people?
**MANDY**
The landowner we lease from called the sheriff to report the trespassing, but the police wouldn’t talk to him—or anyone else who called. They were there to destroy my business, Jenny. And they wanted to arrest me if I showed up.
**JENNY**
Under what pretext?
**MANDY**
They told my police officer friend it’d be “disorderly conduct.” Said no matter how I showed up, they’d claim I was causing problems. My friend told them I had every right to be on my own business property, but they said, “We’ll arrest her no matter what.”
*Jenny leans forward, incredulous.*
**JENNY**
The day before this, you mentioned Mike Lee’s office contacted you about your case. Do you think this raid was connected to that?
**MANDY**
Not directly to Mike Lee, but to the waves we’ve been making in Vernal. We were talking to his staff, going above the local authorities, and they didn’t like that.
**JENNY**
I’m not suggesting Senator Lee had anything to do with this—just that they might’ve retaliated because you reached out to him.
**MANDY**
Exactly. They knew we were escalating, and this was their response. Wyatt’s also using this to strip everything from Beth, my business partner, so when she’s released from jail, she’ll have nothing left to fight for.
*FLASHBACK - EXT. SQUARE PEG RANCH - NIGHT (WEEKS EARLIER)*
*Grainy security footage shows FIGURES creeping around trailers, jimmying locks. A dog’s bark is silenced as it’s taken. No Trespassing signs are visible, ignored.*
**MANDY (V.O.)**
This wasn’t the first time. They’ve been sneaking onto our property, doing illegal surveillance, stealing our dogs so they couldn’t warn us. They’d come at night, during the day, trying to scare us.
*BACK TO PRESENT - SPLIT-SCREEN*
**JENNY**
You sent me video and photos from the raid. One of the vehicles had a Montana license plate. What’s someone from Montana doing there? And Idaho, too?
**MANDY**
Exactly! A tri-state raid on our nonprofit ranch? They took horses, panels, hay sheds, tack—vandalized what they didn’t steal. It’s not just intimidation; it’s destroying our ability to serve vulnerable people, like autistic kids and those in emotional distress.
**JENNY**
Your clients must be devastated. Animal therapy is so powerful for them.
**MANDY**
It is. One mother’s sons haven’t been able to come because of the threats and vandalism. They’re at their wits’ end. Wyatt even said he’s selling the horses—not keeping them, just selling them for profit.
**JENNY**
And this is the same Wyatt who’s shot at your staff, your horses, your dogs?
**MANDY**
Yes. He’s the father of four kids, and he’s trafficked his oldest, Bessie. We don’t know where she is. He took Beth’s other three kids when she was jailed, and no one’s allowed access.
*Jenny shakes her head, furious.*
**JENNY**
In the video, there’s a guy with a badge. Who is he?
**MANDY**
One of Wyatt’s high school buddies, supposedly a deputy with Spanish Fork Police. Showed up in plain clothes, personal vehicle, refused to serve papers. He just took Wyatt’s word over our proof and threatened to “take care of me” if I showed up.
**JENNY**
Why weren’t you there that morning?
**MANDY**
I care for my husband in the mornings and usually head to the ranch in the afternoon. When I got the call, my staff and police friend warned me they’d arrest me if I went.
**JENNY**
You called the police to report the theft and trespassing. What happened?
**MANDY**
My staff and I made four calls. They said, “We’ll see what we can do,” then hung up. The FBI did the same thing—hung up on us. No investigation, no follow-up.
**JENNY**
And the media? No one’s reached out?
**MANDY**
No. Local media’s cozy with these people. You’d think they’d care about a nonprofit being attacked, but they don’t. It’s telling.
**JENNY**
You had a court hearing Thursday. Any connection to the raid?
**MANDY**
I think they raided Wednesday to get me jailed before court. They tried charging me with contempt again and even tied me to the Vernal case, saying it should be combined so I’d be locked up with my three colleagues—who’ve been in jail 55 days now. It’s desperate.
**JENNY**
What did Mike Lee’s office say about next steps?
**MANDY**
They’re looking into constitutional violations and what can be done. We’re still talking, exploring options.
*Jenny leans back, exasperated but resolute.*
**JENNY**
I read a Salt Lake Tribune article claiming you’re “breaking up families.” I laughed out loud, Mandy. You’re helping kids trafficked by their own families! Of course that breaks up those families—rightfully so.
**MANDY**
Exactly. They say I’m ruining families, but I’m taking away their power over victims. They just want the pity vote.
**JENNY**
This is bananas. I believe justice is coming—your temple recommend restored, your place in the church secured. But people need to speak up. Share this story, this video, on social media, especially in Utah. Mandy’s ranch has suffered insane corruption because her work is effective.
*She turns to the camera, impassioned.*
**JENNY**
Donate to Square Peg Ranch. Help clean up the vandalism. Do something. Mandy, any final words?
**MANDY**
We’ll get justice, but not through this corruption. It’s up to people to speak out. If we let this happen here, it’ll spread. Lend your voice, your goodness, to our fight. Reach out to me or Jenny.
**JENNY**
What about a rally at the Spanish Fork Police or Utah County Sheriff’s office? Or Vernal, where your colleagues are jailed?
**MANDY**
That’s a great idea. We need to shine a light on this. And don’t forget the church corruption—my husband and I lost our temple recommends without a proper church court. A policeman with a gun was at our “hearing,” expecting me to be violent. It’s absurd.
**JENNY**
God bless you, Mandy. This is a nightmare, but you’ve got support.
**MANDY**
Thank you, Jenny, and everyone standing with us.
**JENNY**
Mandy Bachman’s Square Peg Ranch update—her assets seized, her work under attack. She needs justice. We’ll be back with more.
*The camera lingers on Jenny, her face a mix of anger and hope. The split-screen fades, leaving her alone. The title card reappears: “Healthy Families Podcast - Fighting for Justice.”*
**FADE OUT.**
**END.**
*Notes: The screenplay captures the urgency and emotional weight of the conversation, using a split-screen to emphasize the dialogue between Jenny and Mandy. Flashbacks and voiceovers visualize the raid and prior incidents, grounding the narrative in the chaos of the events. The tone balances outrage, resilience, and a call to action, staying true to the original text’s intensity and advocacy.*
Scene Seven
**Screenplay: Healthy Families Podcast - Goel Interview**
**INT. JENNY'S HOME STUDIO - EVENING**
*The camera opens on a warmly lit home studio in Boulder, Colorado. JENNY HATCH, sits at a desk with a microphone, laptop, and scattered notes. Rain taps softly against the window, creating a calm backdrop. A title card reads: "Healthy Families Podcast, July 18, 2025." Jenny adjusts her headset, her face alive with purpose.*
**JENNY**
*(to camera, enthusiastic)*
Welcome to the Healthy Families Podcast. I’m your host, Jenny Hatch, and today I’m joined by my special guest, Goel, from Investigations and Ritual Abuse. Goel, welcome to the show!
*Cut to a split-screen. GOEL, appears via video call from Utah. His demeanor is intense yet composed, wearing a T-shirt and cap emblazoned with “Allegedly.”*
**GOEL**
Thanks for having me, Jenny.
**JENNY**
Have you recovered from your week of activism in Utah?
**GOEL**
*(smirking)*
It’s always a gradual process of recovery.
**JENNY**
I watched the *We Are The People Utah* podcast video this morning—a synopsis of the rally and vigil. It was so well-produced, I was thunderstruck. I watched it twice! Your speech was a highlight. Tell me everything about the rally. How did it come to be? What were the goals? Did you achieve them?
**GOEL**
It started with the Utah Coalition Against Pornography’s biannual conference in Sandy. Chelom Levitt was scheduled as the keynote speaker alongside Elder Patrick Kieran of the Quorum of the Twelve in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
*FLASHBACK - EXT. YALE MILLER CENTER, SANDY, UTAH - DAY (LAST WEEK)*
*A crowd of 200 gathers outside the conference center, holding signs reading “Justice for Victims” and “Hold Abusers Accountable.” GOEL speaks passionately at a podium, wearing his “Allegedly” T-shirt and cap. PROTESTERS chant, their voices rising. The atmosphere is charged with defiance.*
**GOEL (V.O.)**
Given the allegations against Chelom—child rape and ritual abuse, public for nearly three years—it was massively inappropriate. She’s still a Sunday school teacher in her ward and an associate professor at BYU in marriage and family sciences.
*BACK TO PRESENT - SPLIT-SCREEN*
**JENNY**
*(outraged)*
And Brian Krushysnyk, another accused, was featured in *Y Magazine* and a BYU art retrospective. It’s like they’re whitewashing these allegations!
**GOEL**
Exactly. These are members of a suspected cult operating within the church, committing heinous acts. The allegations from the Hamblin case—brought to light by grammar requests you and others made—resurfaced from 2012-2014. Now they’re re-emerging in church magazines, at conferences.
**JENNY**
Like Chelom at the Gordon B. Hinckley Center for a Title IX conference, talking about “healthy relationships.” Did you get any free food?
**GOEL**
*(laughs)*
No free food. I walked into the Hinckley Center, sat down, and within two minutes, security escorted me out. They don’t allow Q&As anymore. They don’t want questions.
**JENNY**
What would you have asked Chelom?
**GOEL**
If the allegations from Rachel, Eliza, and Catherine Hamblin are true. If she has exculpatory evidence to debunk them. And why her husband, David Lee Hamblin, in a documentary with Amy Herdy a year before the case broke, admitted ritual abuse was real and referenced Catherine.
**JENNY**
I heard from someone at the event that Chelom didn’t mention false memory syndrome publicly. Where did you hear that?
**GOEL**
In a private conversation after the conference, Chelom claimed the allegations were false, that the girls had “implanted false memories” from David Lee Hamblin, their primary abuser.
**JENNY**
You wrote about the False Memory Syndrome Foundation. Its founders were parents accused by their daughter of abuse. They asked Elizabeth Loftus to write that book. My own mother made my family read it to “understand my problems.”
**GOEL**
Exactly. False memory syndrome isn’t in the DSM-5. It’s not recognized by the APA or any credible organization. But post-traumatic stress and repressed memories? Those are valid. Studies and legal cases show survivors recover memories, corroborate them, and secure convictions.
*FLASHBACK - INT. COURTROOM - DAY (2013)*
*A SURVIVOR, mid-20s, testifies calmly on the stand. Her LAWYER presents documents, photos, corroborating evidence. The DEFENDANT, a middle-aged man, looks uneasy. The scene is brief but powerful.*
**GOEL (V.O.)**
Extreme childhood abuse causes dissociation, repressed memories. Survivors later recall and seek counseling. It’s real, and it’s documented.
*BACK TO PRESENT - SPLIT-SCREEN*
**JENNY**
Brett Bluth’s speech at the rally moved me most. He felt alone at first, but cataloging the progress, he was overcome. Did you talk to him?
**GOEL**
Yeah, I’ve interviewed Brett. He felt isolated, like many of the 316 alleged victims I’ve spoken to in the Hamblin case. I narrowed it to 98 credible cases. But with my stalking case—filed by the Binyons for writing about allegations—many victims feel law enforcement won’t act. They’ve gone silent.
**JENNY**
Yet the week after Emily Sheets’ case was dismissed, you had this incredible rally. Two hundred people! I loved your “Allegedly” T-shirt and hat. Tell us about that.
**GOEL**
*(grinning)*
The “Allegedly” gear is my jab at how we have to frame these cases. *We Are The People Utah* presented the allegations, not as fact, but believed the Hamblin sisters based on my evidence. The Bennions sued them for defamation, not me or the sisters. They sent cease-and-desist letters, demanding apologies. The Prestons have spent thousands fighting it.
**JENNY**
You’re fighting pro se in your stalking case. How’s that going?
**GOEL**
I’m appealing to the Utah Court of Appeals. I haven’t hired an attorney—I’ve got a law degree. They’re using lawfare to silence us, but the Prestons organized that rally brilliantly. The optics were perfect.
*FLASHBACK - EXT. YALE MILLER CENTER - DAY*
*JASON and ALEXIA PRESTON, organizers, rally the crowd. MARY BETH, a survivor, speaks stoically, holding documents. The crowd cheers, holding signs. The energy is electric.*
**JENNY (V.O.)**
Mary Beth was incredible—standing there, unflinching, with a paper trail. That takes strength.
**GOEL (V.O.)**
She was badass. Her evidence is voluminous. Kate Talley, too—her story’s dynamite. Jason’s interviewed her for a future episode.
*BACK TO PRESENT - SPLIT-SCREEN*
**JENNY**
With cases delayed or dismissed, do you think we’ll see court wins?
**GOEL**
Tobias Schroeder’s civil case is alive. David Lee Hamblin’s reformed his “Native American church” into the Mother Earth Manifesto, doing Zoom therapy sessions that mirror the victim statements. It’s chilling—another layer of credibility to his daughters’ claims.
**JENNY**
Like Rosie’s obituary, mentioning “the cutes” as flirting with adults for money or candy. Do they even think before they act?
**GOEL**
No, they don’t. The pornography cache David and Rosie allegedly created—that’s the proof. If anyone knows where it is, don’t contact Utah County Sheriff. Go to an out-of-state FBI office.
**JENNY**
The courts are getting harder to access, too. It used to be easy to watch online. Now it’s cloak-and-dagger—emails, approvals, tech issues. Emily’s hearing was moved last-minute to Provo.
**GOEL**
Not an accident. We rallied on the Manti courthouse steps for her preliminary hearing. Public involvement is key. Utah’s rape prosecution rate is 11.7%, conviction rate under 3%. It’s disgraceful.
**JENNY**
What’s the next big court date?
**GOEL**
Tobias Schroeder’s case was delayed again—his fourth preliminary hearing. It reeks of corruption. We need to push for no statute of limitations on sexual abuse. Victims deserve grace to come forward.
*FLASHBACK - INT. COURTHOUSE STEPS, MANTI - DAY*
*A smaller CROWD rallies, holding signs. GOEL and others speak, demanding justice. The courthouse looms behind them, a symbol of resistance.*
**GOEL (V.O.)**
If you rape someone, it should be capital punishment. It sends a message to victims and predators.
*BACK TO PRESENT - SPLIT-SCREEN*
**JENNY**
Your best line at the rally: “Sexual abuse is satanic.” It’s moral primacy.
**GOEL**
All sexual abuse is satanic. I’ll say it until it’s in people’s hearts and minds. Predators target the vulnerable—children, the mentally ill—because they’re easy. But when strong adults stand up, they back off.
**JENNY**
What else do you want to share?
**GOEL**
Go to the Utah Courts Calendar website. Type in names of accused abusers. Show up to hearings—status, preliminary, trials. Fill the gallery. Let victims know they’re not alone, like Brett or Emily. Let perpetrators see public opposition.
**JENNY**
I’d add: be a keyboard warrior. Start a Substack, podcast, YouTube channel. Tell these stories. We need thousands covering this. I’ve felt overwhelmed, and I know you have, too.
**GOEL**
Absolutely. Jason and Alexia are leading the charge, but we need more. Organize, protest, amplify victims’ voices. Prevent this by keeping kids close until they’re eight, teaching bodily autonomy, and confronting suspicious behavior.
*FLASHBACK - INT. LDS CHURCH - DAY*
*A CHILD, 6, walks alone toward a bathroom. An ADULT watches from a classroom, predatory. A PARENT notices, steps in, and escorts the child back. The adult retreats, unnerved.*
**JENNY (V.O.)**
One of my abusers preyed on kids at church, waiting in classrooms for them to go to the bathroom alone. He’s in prison now.
**GOEL (V.O.)**
Bishops, counselors—report to police, not just within the ward. Be your own media. Confront inappropriate behavior. An ounce of prevention saves a lifetime of agony.
*BACK TO PRESENT - SPLIT-SCREEN*
**JENNY**
Isaiah said, “They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain.” We’re not there yet, but we must protect our kids. Keep them close, communicate openly, empower them to speak up.
**GOEL**
Predators threaten kids into silence. Tell them, “Go tell my parents you’ll kill me and see how that works.” Be a threat to abusers.
**JENNY**
Your name, Goel—why did you choose it?
**GOEL**
It means “redeemer” or “reclaimant.” In the Old Testament, a goel redeems a relative from bondage. When I heard the Hamblin allegations, I was incensed. David Lee Hamblin, a Latter-day Saint, dragged kids into bondage. I chose Goel to reclaim victims, to fight for them.
**JENNY**
You’re a champion. Sexual abuse is evil, satanic, and its end is written. We’re called to oppose it, no matter our faith. Be perceived as a threat to predators.
**GOEL**
Exactly. They’re losers, preying on the weak. But when we show public will—pressure law enforcement, prosecutors—they’ll back off. Apathy lets them thrive. Act, or God gets blamed for our failures.
**JENNY**
Amen. Thank you, Goel, for your work these past years. I look forward to victories ahead.
**GOEL**
Thank you, Jenny. God bless.
**JENNY**
God bless you. Bye-bye.
*The split-screen fades, leaving Jenny. She looks into the camera, resolute. The title card reappears: “Healthy Families Podcast - Fighting Evil.”*
**FADE OUT.**
**END.**
*Notes: The screenplay condenses the dialogue for dramatic impact, preserving the passion and urgency of Jenny and Goel’s discussion. Flashbacks visualize the rally, court scenes, and predatory behavior, grounding the narrative in real events. The tone balances outrage, advocacy, and hope, emphasizing the call to action and moral primacy of fighting sexual abuse.*
