I was the Longs Peak Choral Director and organized an insta choir that met a few minutes before Sacrament Meeting.
We were a family choir that mostly sang primary songs and hymns.
I received permission from the Bishop to organize a youth choir that met at 4 pm every other Sunday in our home. It was so much fun singing with those young men and women.
We did a flash mob at the local mall and sang a few songs in church.
One of the songs we rehearsed so much was the sisters in Zion/Army of Helaman medley.
Our version was with piano accompaniment by one of the youth in our choir. He worked so hard on this piece.
Here is another choir singing it, shared because I failed to capture our version on video.
One week I was too ill to direct and I asked James to fill in. He rehearsed our choir like a boss.
Here are a few of my thoughts on the new hymn book being crafted by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
A year before Covid shut down our choirs and churches I organized a Longmont Stake Family Choir and we performed in a Christmas Caroling event up at Estes Park.
“Last night I led the singing for a Christmas Caroling Party up in Estes Park!
It was so fun.
I am so thankful my husband Paul was able to come support me. I had to direct this gig mostly from my wheelchair and it is not easy pushing my heiny all over the icy streets of Estes.
We started at Bond Park and sang for about twenty minutes then walked (rolled) up the street to the theater singing on the way.
We had a crowd of about 25 people show up at the park and more joined in as we arrived at the theater.
We sang a mix of traditional and contemporary Christmas songs.”
